Can anything affect the longevity of a filler?
Longevity is a claim on a product page, and it deserves a closer read than most claims.
Why we print no number of months
We cannot give you a number of months, and we are wary of any page that gives one without naming the product and the area treated. Several details could plausibly change how long a result lasts, and the useful move is to ask your provider about each one.
Material and reversal behind a duration claim
"Filler" is a broad label. The ASPS page on dermal fillers is a plain baseline for what the category includes. Two products under that label can differ in material, so a longevity claim for one does not transfer to the other.
A second footnote is reversal. The modified high-dose protocol for dissolving filler covers how hyaluronic acid filler is dissolved, including elective reversal. If a result can be undone, the stated duration is a maximum on paper, not a promise.
Four questions before you rely on a duration
- Ask which product will be used, by brand and type, and read its own materials.
- Ask where on the face it will go and whether that area changes the expected duration.
- Ask what the provider counts as "worn off" and how follow-up visits are scheduled.
- Compare the claim you are given against the manufacturer's wording, field by field.
A duration is a question for your own provider
Nothing on this label-reading site is medical advice, and how long a filler lasts in you is a question for a licensed provider in or near Medina who has examined you.
